Director, Digital Product : El Segundo, CA : Full-time

Our client  Manduka is looking for a Director of Digital Product and is responsible for the product roadmap, feature definition, architecture, and user flow of Manduka’s digital products including B2C website, B2B website, applications and other digital projects. The role involves working with cross-functional teams including eCommerce, marketing, IT, finance, operations, customer care and wholesale. The Director will analyze the market and competitive environment to define a differentiated product vision that delivers unique value. This role spans many types of activities, from strategic to tactical. Their main responsibilities will be to provide leadership and analysis on a variety of key business initiatives, partner with marketing and sales to develop growth plans, identify criteria for success, and execute launch of new products and features that improve the performance of Manduka’s websites and other applications.

Responsibilities: 

·         Digital Product Roadmap

  • Site design, architecture and user flow for all websites
  • Identify feature sets or new applications that will improve user experience and support achievement of revenue targets
  • Create short-term and long-term product roadmaps for US and International, Consumer and Wholesale web sites
  • Identify tools and new technology to optimize site operations, create efficiency and improve UI/UX
  • Collaborate closely with the business, marketing/content and merchandising teams to define, document and prioritize requirements, ensuring business and customer needs are met
  • Analyze data from all parts of the business to identify trends and opportunities to improve the products
  • Use hard data and metrics to prioritize, develop project goals and define success metrics for your features

    ·         Project Management

  • Conduct Vendor assessments and recommendations for new features/tools; Negotiate pricing and terms and secure agreements
  •  Build project charters, timeline, dependencies, and RACI matrix for all digital projects
  • Lead cross-functional coordination of Vendors, IT, Creative, and eCom teams during projects and for maintenance items as needed
  • Work with Creative designer and developers to execute to objectives
  •  Ensure successful on-time / on-budget launch of all features and projects
  • Testing / Analysis / Ongoing website optimization
  • Conduct A/B, usability and other tests on all digital product launches and optimization activities
  • Control testing against installation of all new features
  • Analysis and reporting of performance of new digital product features
  • Monitor user feedback and validate/document bugs and site issues
  • Provides recommendations for overall strategy for approval by regional GM’s and ELT
  • Makes day-to-day decisions on tactical optimization
  • No Direct Reports
  • Strong cross-functional relationships with UX Designer, eCommerce team, and Developer
  • KPI's for measuring success:
  • Achievement of all eCommerce revenue and profit targets, B2C and B2B, in all markets
  • Successful launch of site features, improvements, and projects (On Time / On Budget)
  • Increase in site conversion and overall experience across all devices
  • Decrease in on-site customer issues

Requirements:

  •  5-7 years’ experience in Digital Product Management in a lead role, preferably in eCommerce
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or a technical/quantitative field.
  •  Solid understanding of web development and e-commerce environments. Magento and Shopify experience a plus.
  • Experience working with engineering and creative staff in a fast-paced environment
  • Execution orientation; demonstrated ability to translate strategic ideas into detailed product requirements.
  • Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing architectural concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members.
  •  Experience with global eCommerce businesses, understanding needs of non-US markets and experience in launching new products outside of the US
  • Superior communication and analytical skills, including strong ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent customer experience intuition; demonstrated success in creating innovative and user-friendly software applications and customer-facing features
  • Proven ability to make smart feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs; experience using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value
  • Experience with project management software and workflow management (e.g. JIRA, Asana, or other productivity tools)
  • Willingness to roll up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management; excellent interpersonal skills
