Creative Brand Manager : San Francisco, CA : Freelance

Our client, Gymboree, is looking for a temporary/freelance Creative Brand Manager to join their team. In this role, you will develop and execute a variety of marketing initiatives that increase brand awareness, and drive traffic and sales for the brand; strategize in development of seasonal marketing campaigns and promotional programs based on expertise in business results, target customer, and competition; manage and develop a team; partner with critical company stakeholders including Merchandising, Planning, Creative Services, Visual Merchandising, Integrated Marketing, Store Operations, E-commerce, and CRM for cohesion and alignment with overall brand objectives. You are a demonstrated strategic business partner and manager, and excel at meeting the demands of a fast-paced retail industry. The Senior Brand Manager has a proven track record of creative and resourceful approaches to unique business challenges, and demonstrated success in making brand-appropriate strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Strategic partner in the development and execution of marketing initiatives and promotions that increase brand awareness and sales

  • Own creative briefs for all seasonal marketing campaigns, promotional programs, and permanent marketing: windows, in-store, testing initiatives, photo shoot imagery, and walkthroughs; cover creative deliverables at the campaign (macro) and tactical level and communicate them to internal and external partners

  • Partner closely with the cross-functional teams to ensure clear alignment on brand and promotional messaging; conduct seasonal hindsighting

  • Maintain team by partnering with staffing, selecting, orienting and training employees; develop personal growth opportunities

  • Accomplish team results by balancing team workload, coaching, planning, monitoring and appraising job results

  • Ensure projects delivered on brand, on time, and on budget while reducing redundancies and complexities

  • Manage approval process within Brand Creative Services and with key external stakeholders; partner with Creative Services team to ensure that creative message/execution is on brand and delivers against program objectives

  • Partner with in-house traffic managers to develop and track timelines; clearly communicate changes to project scope or timelines to ensure teams are aligned on objectives and deliverables

  • Review and improve upon existing processes to help empower stores to carry out the brand’s creative vision

  • Control signage and postage budget, by tracking marketing expenses, scheduling expenditures; monitoring variances; implementing corrective actions

What You’ll Bring

  • BS/BA required, preferred degree in Communications, Advertising or Marketing.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within a marketing or advertising department and/or agency with direct responsibilities related to the position
