Retail Store Manager : Palo Alto, CA : Full-Time / Seasonal

Stanford Shopping Center - Pop Up Retail Sales Event

Our client, a women’s luxury fashion brand, is looking for a Store Manager with a proven track record of using innovative business strategies to build and grow a retail business. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a best-in-class retail experience and is an inspiring and engaging team leader. The candidate must be KPI and operationally-minded and have a start-up business mentality with the ability to contribute to building a fast-growing retail organization. This is a full-time, seasonal role for 6 months with the possibility of turning permanent.


  • Manage all aspects of store operations including but not limited to: P&L, store technology, company guidelines and policies, and brand standards.

  • Monitor, track, and communicate trends and opportunities of key business metrics. Develop strategies and action plans to target improvement and profitability.

  • Drive business to the store by establishing partnerships in the community and networking to bring in clientele. Partner with Marketing, Customer Experience and In-Store Teams to create and execute marketing initiatives and events.

  • Become a brand champion & product expert. Develop a deep understanding of all products, collections, and story. Cultivate methods for interactive and ongoing team training.


  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of candidates for all store roles.

  • Actively manage employee engagement, development and retention.

  • Plan and manage payroll spend; create strategic schedules to support business plans.

  • Lead by example. Maintain a regular sales floor presence – support and coach team members in delivering the store experience and support a positive client-centric environment.

  • Minimum 3-5 years luxury or contemporary retail experience with 3 years in a store leadership role.

  • Weekend availability required – on call availability as needed.

  • Working knowledge of P&L management, retail best practices and local labor laws.

  • Experience in a high-touch customer service environment preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
